What a wonderful life

Life is wonderful…

But what is life?

Plato said, “Life is the soul’s journey toward truth and the realm of perfect forms, leaving behind physical forms.” His disciple, Aristotle, said, “Life is about realizing human potential and achieving happiness through rational activity and virtue.” Meanwhile, Epicurus said, “Life is about maximizing simple pleasures, avoiding pain, and maintaining a calm mind.

They are correct… all of them…

Life is the journey of the soul to realize its potential to achieve happiness in simple things, while avoiding pain and maintaining a calm mind…

But “calm” is not the way of the mind, and “pain” is often unavoidable. The mind always thinks, jumping from one thought to another. And pain… it comes when reality does not match expectation. That’s also life…

But life remains wonderful, no matter how hard we try to remain calm… it remains wonderful, no matter how hard we deal with pain…

The key, I believe, is gratitude and surrender…

With gratitude, we accept the simple pleasures… with surrender, we let go of pain…

Life does not happen to make us happy… it comes to teach us how to be happy…

Life does not come to give whatever we ask for… it comes to teach us how to receive all gratefully…

Life does not come to seize your happiness… it comes to teach us letting go…

When life goes as expected, be grateful… when it goes miserably, surrender and let it go…

That’s, I believe, the key to making life remain wonderful…
